Taking the concept of “La La Land” as its starting point, the Sofitel Shanghai North Bund constructs an ongoing dialogue spanning time and region from the perspective of a renowned Shanghai musician, offering every visitor a unique emotional experience.

Architecture is the art of space, while music is the art of time. Though different, they share the same principle: both value the beauty of rhythm and cadence. The entrance design derives from the curved lines of the old building facade, achieving a balance between the classic and the modern.

As the space gradually unfolds, with shifts between the real and the virtual, advancing and retreating, it conveys a rhythmic and melodic sense akin to music.

“Love is a chord of life, not a lonely solo.” Entering the space, the artworks in view are inspired by “sheet music”; through interaction, the dancing notes turn into a throbbing heartbeat.

The lobby design focuses on creating a “romantic” atmosphere. With light-colored stone as the base tone, the graceful curves derived from musical notes combine traditional classics with comfort and nature, composing the main theme of romance with poetic notes.

The simple yet romantic white embraces all love. The axially symmetric layout gives the space a serene quality that unites idealism and sensibility, poetry and function.

A cup of coffee slowly steaming, beautiful music playing—immersed in the pleasant time of self-dialogue, pure, unhurried, and effortless.

French arcs, Art Deco elements distilled from old Shanghai buildings, and the romance of the neo-French Shanghainese style intertwine with the interior space, quietly narrating the tranquility of passing years.

The bar area employs gradual and chiaroscuro contrasts, patterned artistic crystal glass, and the glossy textures rendered by different materials, unfolding a flowing feast.

Arriving at the guestrooms, the space uses pure colors as its keynote. Every step strikes an elegant note, expressing people’s imagination of “elegance” in the most direct language.

Within a small space, one finds perfect ease. The thoughtfully placed minibar gently attends to every ritual of life.
